Command reference
Every player command on Blacklight, grouped by system, with what each one does and where it will refuse you.
How to read this page
Blacklight runs on Paper 26.1.2. Java clients connect to blacklight-network.de; Bedrock clients use the same address on port 19132. Every command below behaves the same on both.
That parity is why the command surface is as wide as it is. Bedrock players can type commands, but they get no tab completion, and clickable chat components do not always survive the translation. So the plugin holds a rule: anything a menu can do, a command can do too. Where a screen prints a command in an item's description, the visible text is the command, ready to be typed.
Conventions
<angle brackets>mark a required argument,[square brackets]an optional one, anda|bmeans pick one.- Aliases sit beside the main command and behave identically.
- Destructive actions use two steps. The first command describes what will happen; a second confirm command carries it out. On Java the prompt is clickable, but it only writes the command into your chat box rather than running it, so a misclick cannot disband your faction.
- A system that is switched off says so when you type its command, rather than pretending the verb does not exist.
Staff and operator commands exist: moderation, vanish, staff chat, the admin console verb and a small media kit reserved for named accounts. None of them are documented here. If a command is not on this page, assume it is not yours to run.
Chat, messaging and everyday commands
The chat channel commands act the moment you send them. There is no confirmation step, because switching channel costs nothing and is undone by switching back.
| Command | What it does | Notes |
|---|---|---|
/msg <player> <message> | Sends a private message. | Aliases /tell, /w. Needs at least two arguments; there is no bare form. Bedrock names carry a leading dot and are resolved for you. |
/r <message> | Replies to whoever you last messaged, or who last messaged you. | Alias /reply. Has no tab completion at all. |
/gc | Switches your active chat channel to global. | Global lines render as [G] <tag> <Name> > <message>, with any chat tag you bought in front of your name. |
/lc | Switches to local chat, heard only nearby. | Acts immediately. |
/fc | Switches to faction chat. | Requires a faction to be useful. |
/fac | Switches to the ally facing channel. | Reaches factions you are allied with. |
/ping [player] | Reports latency, yours or someone else's. | Acts immediately. |
/tps | Reports the server tick rate the plugin has been tracking. | No tab completion. |
/profile | Opens your profile screen: profession, ranks, masteries and progress. | A 54 slot screen built inline rather than by a dedicated menu class. |
/updates | Opens the changelog, newest entry first. | New entries are pushed to you on join with a chat line whose text is /updates, so a failed screen never costs you the notice. On Bedrock the screens arrive as a translated chest rather than a native form. |
/profanityfilter | Turns your chat filter on or off and configures it. | Five verbs, including a list of what is filtered. |
/mobdrops | Chooses how mob drops reach you. | Aliases /drops, /md. Verbs: normal, farm, xp, status, help. Bare opens the screen. Refuses outright when the feature is disabled. |
/isandreibanned | Answers a question nobody asked. | A joke command. It is genuinely in the plugin. |
Money, banking and business
Coins are the single currency. A new account starts at 2,500 coins. Purchases draw from your bank account first, then your wallet, then any coin notes you are carrying, so a healthy balance in one place is enough.
| Command | What it does | Notes |
|---|---|---|
/money [player] | Shows a balance card, yours or a target's. | Chat only; there is no screen. Amounts render to two decimals. |
/pay <player> <amount> | Transfers coins to another player. | Deliberately a wire rather than a shop purchase, so it does not use the account first cascade. Works with Bedrock names. |
/baltop | Opens the wealth leaderboard. | A real screen for players; the console falls back to a chat top ten. |
/bank | Opens the banking hub. | Verbs include open, close, balance, deposit, withdraw, note, savings, loan, credit, stocks, buy, sell, interest, register, unregister, create, withdraw-profit and help. /bank help is eight chat pages, one per topic. |
/economy [explain] | Opens the economy screen: price level, inflation and your faction's profile. | Works without a faction, in which case you get the world view. explain is the written version. |
/company | Founding, staffing and running a firm. | Aliases /co, /firm. Twenty eight verbs, including found, directory, apply, hire, fire, salary, clockin, clockout, consignment, route, deposit, withdraw, hq, shop, payslips, ledger, stocks, dissolve and explain. No permission node; anyone may found one. |
/bounty | Opens the bounty board: place a price on a rival, or hunt one. | Aliases /bounties, /wanted. /bounty on <name> is the typed path for an offline target, and it exists because the amount screen has no writable slots by design. |
/writs | Opens the Chancery: daily writs, weekly commissions and mandates. | Aliases /writ, /quest, /quests. Eleven verbs, including seals, explain and help. |
A bounty pool is escrow. The coins leave the placer at the moment of placement and later leave the pool exactly once, as a payout to a killer or as a refund. The placement fee is charged on top and destroyed; the cancel fee is withheld from your refund and destroyed. Neither ever enters the pool.
Factions and land
/faction carries thirty nine verbs, which is the largest set outside the forge. /f is the alias almost everyone uses. Bare /f opens the faction hub if you are in one; if you are not, you get a written summary instead, which is a known rough edge.
| Verb | What it does | Notes |
|---|---|---|
create <name> | Founds a faction. | Costs coins. Renaming later needs a voucher bought from the faction shop. |
invite <player> / invites | Invites someone, or lists the invitations waiting for you. | The invitee gets a prompt they can click or type. |
join <faction> / leave | Accepts an invitation, or walks out. | Leaving is confirmed. |
kick <player> | Removes a member. | Rank gated, and confirmed. |
promote <player> | Moves a member up a rank. | Ranks gate almost everything else in this table. |
transfer <player> | Hands ownership to another member. | Confirmed. |
disband | Dissolves the faction. | Confirmed. The treasury is split among former members; unpayable shares are written off rather than invented. |
claim / unclaim / listclaims / map | Takes, releases and reviews territory. | map draws the chunks around you. Claim protection drives block breaking, mob spawning, teleporter access and grave access. |
home | Teleports to the faction home. | The Faction Home Scroll from the shop is the portable version, at 10,000 coins. |
info / list | Reads one faction, or browses all of them. | info also names your faction's contraband list. |
pay <player> <amount> | Pays out of the treasury. | Gated on the withdraw permission, and confirmed with /f confirm. |
deposit / withdraw | Moves coins between your balance and the treasury. | Withdrawals are rank gated and capped per day. |
tax | Opens the taxation hub, or explains it. | Owner only for editing. Anyone may read /faction tax explain. |
economy | Shows the faction's economic profile. | The same data the faction hub's Bank and Economy tile opens. |
settings | Toggles faction settings. | Includes whether members may found companies and whether they may open shops. |
companies | Lists the faction's firms and releases one. | list is open to any member; the rest needs the kick permission. |
privatebanks | Allows or forbids members opening private banks. | Leader only. |
fragments | Reads the faction's fragment bank. | Fragments pay for village NPC work and are items, not coins. |
confirm | Completes whatever you were just asked about. | The second half of disband, kick, war and treasury payments. |
help | Prints the command list. | Every line is clickable on Java and typeable on Bedrock. |
Diplomacy runs through the same command: allies, war declarations and peace offers all arrive as prompts to the other faction rather than as instant state changes. A war declaration has to be accepted before it means anything.
Professions, skills and boosts
There are fifteen professions. They are separate from skills: a profession is what you are paid for, a skill is what you get better at. Both track independently, and you can hold neither, one or both.
| Command | What it does | Notes |
|---|---|---|
/job | Opens profession selection. | Aliases /jobs, /j. Fifteen professions spread over two pages of the picker. Verbs cover info, mastery, top and ability handling. |
/job info | Reads one profession: earn sources, abilities, masteries and traits. | Every profession's income runs through one funnel, so idle detection, diminishing returns, zone and tax modifiers all apply the same way. |
/job mastery | Picks a mastery path once you reach master rank. | Two paths per profession. |
/skill | Opens the skill hub. | Ten verbs. Eighty one base nodes across ten disciplines, plus thirty rank nodes on top. |
/skill <discipline> | Jumps straight to that discipline's tree. | Every row in a tree is typeable, which is what makes the trees usable on Bedrock. |
/skill notes | Handles study notes. | /skill notes convert sweeps your inventory and your ender chest in one pass. It exists because the shift plus right click gesture is unreliable through Geyser, and it does the whole job either way. |
/skill explain | Explains what a discipline is for, in plain language. | The same sentence appears on the hub card and the tree header, so the three never disagree. |
/skill respec | Refunds a spent skill point. | The cost is burned rather than parked in a pot. It shrinks the money supply instead of moving coins somewhere an operator could spend them. |
/buffs | Opens the buff shop. | Alias /buff. Arguments are ignored; there are no verbs. |
/boosts | Opens the booster ladder. | Levelled boosters, each level costing more than the last. If a screen fails you, the chat fallback lists your active boosts. |
Two timed purchases from the shop deserve naming, because both survive a restart. The Cooldown Pass halves ability cooldowns and says so in the rejection message when an ability is still cooling. The Trait Boost doubles secondary trait gain and marks each qualifying kill in your action bar. Both store their expiry, so a restart does not eat what you paid for.
The forge
/forge carries the largest verb set in the plugin, roughly thirty of them, plus a staff branch that is not listed here. /smithing is the alias. Bare /forge opens the guide.
Nothing in the forge is random. There is no hidden roll on a quench, no lucky reforge and no chance to lose an item. What you get is a function of the metal, the ore region it came from, the heat you worked at and the quench medium you chose.
| Verb | What it does | Notes |
|---|---|---|
start <type> | Begins a forging session at the structure you are standing at. | The tab list is derived from the item registry, so a newly craftable type appears without anyone editing the command. |
heat | Brings the piece up to working temperature. | Fuel is coal or charcoal. Forge Oil is a quench medium, not a fuel; it is honey bottle plus coal. |
quench [medium] | Cools the piece and locks in the result. | Water, lava, oil, powder snow or dragon breath. An unrecognised medium is refused rather than silently treated as water. |
alloy <base> <additive> <ratio> | Mixes an alloy at an alloy capable structure. | Temper alloys are refused at the ordinary mixer; they belong to the reforge path. |
alloys | Lists the alloy recipes; alloys gui opens the screen. | Text first, screen on request. That shape repeats across the whole command. |
skim | Skims the crucible. | Part of the melt cycle. |
types [name|gui] | Prints the catalogue of forgeable items, one in full, or opens the screen. | Built because the only complete list used to be a tab completion, and Bedrock has no tab completion. |
structures [tier] | Lists the buildable forge structures and their patterns. | Thirteen are registered. Only some of them contain anything anvil shaped. |
station | Prints the Rift Enchanter's build pattern and its costs. | Readable even while forging is switched off. |
check | Tells you what structure you are standing at and what it can do. | Useful when two structures overlap. |
info | Reads the forged item in your hand. | Stats, ore origin, sockets, runes and instability. |
gem insert|remove <0-2> | Sets or pulls a gem in one of three sockets. | Socket indices are zero based. |
gems / sockets | Lists the gems and what each socket does. | Both are chat output. |
rune engrave | Engraves a rune onto the held item. | One rune per item. |
repair | Repairs forged gear. | repair session and repair strike drive the hands on version. Enchantments on the repaired item are kept verbatim. |
reforge | Applies an additive temper from a temper alloy held in your off hand. | It does not reroll stats. A stat reroll is refused, and there is no version of this command that gambles. Twenty five temper alloys exist across ten effects and four tiers. |
tempers | Lists the temper alloys, their effects and their tiers. | Chat output. |
enchant | Opens the Rift Enchanter station on the item in your hand. | The typed equivalent of right clicking the enchanting table while holding forged gear. The item never enters a menu slot; the screen works on your main hand and re-checks the item on every click. |
transfer | Moves an enchantment off one item and onto another. | The second screen on the same station. |
relic <id> | Runs a relic ritual. | Needs a structure with forge capability. |
ritual | Drives the ritual surface; ritual tower raises the tower. | A typed verb rather than a block placement listener, so it cannot fire by accident. |
arrows | Opens the fletching bench browser. | Eight ammunition types. Every control on the bench is a named item, and this is the typed way in. |
recall | Recalls the Voidfang to your anchor. | Sits beside the gesture rather than replacing it. |
session [cancel] | Reports the current session, or abandons it. | The report prints the session seed and the event step, so a strange result can be described precisely. |
stage debug | Prints where the forge stage props resolved and what they are standing on. | A diagnostic, fully typeable, with no permission gate. |
tutorial | Opens the forging tutorial. | Ten paths, nineteen steps, event driven and saved. Each finished step pays 25 vanilla experience, deliberately not coins. |
help | Opens the multi screen guide, one page per topic. | Each page is written as what, why and how, and names the exact command. |
If forging is switched off on the server, the reading verbs still work: help, info, station, types and tutorial. Being told a system is unavailable should not also stop you learning how it works.
One rendering limit worth knowing. The resource pack ships forged models on the iron tier base items only, so copper, gold, diamond and netherite forges fall back to the vanilla model. The stats are correct either way; only the look is missing.
The village: hired NPCs and farming
Hired villagers work for you on a schedule and cost upkeep every hour. Eight roles exist. Every assignment is a typed command, and the manage screen prints those exact lines in its cards, so nothing about the system is menu only.
| Command | What it does | Notes |
|---|---|---|
/npc | Opens the village hub. | Alias /village. Hire cards show the live discounted cost and the hourly upkeep before you commit. |
/npc hire <type> | Hires a worker or a guard. | Holding the matching profession earns a hire discount that scales with your rank in it. |
/npc list / manage [id] | Lists your NPCs, or opens one for management. | The detail card shows builder progress and any shortfall in materials. |
/npc assign <id> <...> | Gives an NPC its orders. | Targets include post, patrol add, patrol clear, chest, region, build <name>, source, dest and home, each finished with confirm. |
/npc dismiss <id> confirm | Releases an NPC. | Refunds nothing. The coins and fragments you spent are gone by design. |
/npc carry | Prints the carry capacity of every role at every tier. | Chat output, printed from the same call the limit itself uses, so the table cannot drift from the rule. |
/npc alerts on|off | Turns your NPC lifecycle notices on or off. | Off by default. Six lifecycle events reach you when it is on. |
/npc autonomy <id> on|off | Lets an NPC act on its own, or stops it. | When it refuses, the reply names the blocker. |
/farm process | Opens the Herbalist's Station you are standing at. | Alias /agri. The typed equivalent of an empty handed right click on the station's smoker. Holding any item leaves the smoker fully vanilla. |
/farm adopt | Registers an existing farm plot so a hired Farmer will work it. | Only farmland qualifies. A pre existing farm is otherwise invisible to the NPC, which is what this verb exists to fix. |
Two numbers set the ceiling on forestry. A hired Lumberjack is capped at 3,840 logs and 30,720 leaf blocks per day. Those figures were tripled once already; they are the current values, not a target.
Selling hemp leaf and cannabis bud is a gesture: sneak and right click while holding them. There is no /farm sell. That is a genuine gap in the rule that every gesture ships with a command beside it, and it is recorded as one rather than glossed over.
Exploration, travel and recovery
Sixty Ancient Ruin sites are placed in the world, most of them carved underground in the deepslate band rather than sitting on the surface. Distance to a ruin is measured horizontally, so the locator still works when you are standing far above one.
| Command | What it does | Notes |
|---|---|---|
/ruin | Prints the ruins help. | Alias /ruins. Three screens sit behind their own verbs: a site dossier, a codex of what you have read, and the Curator, who trades for Relic Coins. |
/ruin list | Lists the sites you have found. | Undiscovered sites are not handed to you as coordinates. |
/ruin nearest | Points you at the closest site. | Costs 100 coins, charged before the search. If nothing is in range you are refunded. |
/ruin explain | Explains the sigil and stratum rules. | The refusal you get at a sealed vault names this command. |
/ruin unclaim | Releases your faction's claim on a site. | Owning faction and elder rank or above. |
/rift | Reports rift status and reads one rift. | Rifts are open world wave defence: neutralise the anchors, then face what they were holding. There is no screen for this command at all. |
/mapboard | Pins and unpins maps on a map board. | Alias /mb. Chat only. |
/teleporter | Registers, links and manages multiblock teleporters. | Aliases /tp2, /tele. Verbs cover register, link, unlink, demolish, set, list, info and gui. Travel is charged, and part of the fee is rent to the owning faction. |
/spawn | Teleports you to spawn. | Refused while you are combat tagged. The tag lasts five seconds from your last damage. |
/tpc | Cancels the spawn screen countdown. | Acts immediately. |
/grave | Lists your graves, teleports to one, removes one. | Alias /grv. Chat only; there is no grave screen. Graves expire, and you may hold only so many at once. |
Claiming a ruin does not pay you an income. It never has since the passive income model was removed. What a claim gives you is a share of what gets extracted from the site, transferred from a wallet to your treasury, which means somebody has to actually work the ruin for the claim to be worth holding.
/expedition and its alias /exp are declared and will answer you, but the dungeon system they belong to is switched off. Nothing to enter, and no reason to go looking for the world it would use.
Shops, the market, voting and cosmetics
/shop is the hub for everything you can buy with coins. It has no verbs and no tab completion; you open it and pick a tab. The tabs are the server shop, the Event Shop, the Faction Shop, Job Boosts, Cosmetics, the Market Board and the Buff Shop.
| Command | What it does | Notes |
|---|---|---|
/shop | Opens the shop hub. | Every price label is computed from the same expression that charges you, tax included, so what you read is what you pay. |
/eventshop | Opens the Event Shop directly. | Alias /adminshop. A server owned catalogue with unlimited stock; the proceeds fund the event account rather than a player. |
/rshop | Runs a regional shop on your faction's land. | Aliases /regionalshop, /fshop. Verbs include create, list, manage, remove, open, close, nearby, listings, addlisting, removelisting, browse, buy, info and tax. There is no hub screen: create, tax and listing management stay typed. |
/vote | Opens voting: the sites, your streak, the leaderboard and case opening. | Alias /v. Voting pays tokens and a timed coin boost, and keeps a streak while you vote inside the window. |
/voteshop | Spends vote tokens. | Alias /vs. Arguments are ignored. |
Two selling routes exist beside the shop. The Market Board inside /shop is player to player: it charges a listing fee and takes a five percent cut of the sale, with no faction tax, and shows 28 listings per page. A regional shop is the opposite arrangement: its tax is carved out of what the buyer pays and goes to the owning faction, capped at half the price.
Cosmetics, and what they cost
Cosmetics are a tab in /shop. They change nothing about how you play.
| Item | Price | What it changes |
|---|---|---|
| Nametag colour | 25,000 coins | Your name in chat, above your head and in the tab list. The colour is always your own, with or without a faction, because every player sits on a team of their own. |
| Custom death message | 25,000 coins | What the server says when you die. |
| Particle effect | 12,000 coins | Five effects to choose from. |
| Chat tag | See the shop | Sits in front of your name in global chat. |
| Faction Home Scroll | 10,000 coins | Portable travel to the faction home. |
| Chunk Reveal Token | 1,500 coins | Draws a three by three claim map around you. |
| Faction Rename Voucher | 75,000 coins | One faction name change. |
| Faction chunk upgrade | 15,000 / 35,000 / 70,000 coins | Three tiers of extra claim capacity. |
| Job boosts | 3,000 / 7,500 coins | The Cooldown Pass and the Trait Boost. |
| Third job slot | 150,000 coins | A one-time unlock. Two slots are free from the start. |
